    Beware Puffer Whims

    As they let off steam

    Watt's low becomes high

    Puffing Devil scream

    On straight and narrow

    Trewithick's smoke stack

    Never came off the rails

    Richards dream on track

    Loco with motive

    Dares Catch Me Who Can

    Around in circles

    Engineered his plan

Very cool topic and muse Jon. Why not attach a link? Once I researched “puffer whims” your poem came alive. Love this Jon!

I love that 'Loco with motive' line! Serious cleverness going on in this one Jon. I agree with Bobby about the link - it helped me vision exactly what you were portraying in your signature short-line style. Smashing job!

A very nice tribute to Mr. Trevithick, Parkinsonspoet! I hadn’t heard of him or the term ‘puffer whims’, but we have ‘little puffer bellies all in a row’ so I was able to get the gist and the link helped put it into perspective.
