  • That Stubborn Old Elephant - ha'sonnet

    That stubborn
    Old elephant
    With the rubber
    Impediment
    Uses his trunk
    To get quite drunk
    Too jive to drive

Brought a smile to my face MH. Good to see you posting here again. We’ve missed you.

      Behemoth, sotted,
      (on the juice)
      was lately spotted
      in the sluice.
      Soon channel deep
      became his keep.
      New digs? Zoo brigs.

MHenry - it does my heart good to see your name in the queue and your wit in the verse!

            Party with pool
            Cue if able
            Pocket your balls
            From the table
            Break of seven
            Chalk for heaven
            Attack the black

Very nice, Pp! The last line is the hardest (or is it the first cut is the deepest?)

I like this form but that is partly because it allies so well with your sense of fun

The last lines. I gather and save them as they come to me. Then I have to find poems to put above them, which is easier than finding the last line for a poem.

              Elephants Trunk
              rhyming slang
              for another little drink
              when already,
              slack-legged
              too readily,
              wine has flowed
              into the crumpled
              form that follows.
