    Gulls gather on the pond

    Ducks depart the water

    As reflections ripple

    During suns brief cameo

Bare branches bend in the breeze

    Calmly brush the clear sky

    Reaching for suns warm rays

    To awaken green buds

Trainer squelch in the soft mud

    Forgetting they were white

    Step slipping with each stride

As their prints mark their path

This is a beautifully descriptive piece Jon. I felt 'in the moment' as I read. Wonderfully done.

Thank you I almost fell in the river slipping on the rivers edge trying to avoid the mud. As well as walking I took enough mud home on my trainers to provide a new layer of topsoil in the garden, proving men can multitask

LOL! Was there ever any doubt (that men can multitask)? Glad a pleasant walk didn't turn into a calamity - and hope your garden yields positive results. I often wonder how I'll adapt to the mud and muck (or layers of dust) when we've moved to the's a big part of that whole scene.

          Slip Sliding Away Now,
          strides a fowl day now
the sun's back in play now.
