  • The Lady of the Lute

    Faint echoes of music from years
    Long past, are wafted to my ears.
    Gently, on my heart, the sound lies
    Like sleep-filled lids on tired eyes.
    Slowly, from my care-laden soul,
    It wrings my woes and fills the hole
    With tender thoughts of murmuring seas,
    Of the hummed harmonies of bees,
    Of the soft notes of mountain streams-
    Strains which recur in my sweet dreams.
    This seldom heard mysterious sound;
    This waft that stirs the air around;
    Is a quaint spell cast by the mute
    Enchanting Lady of the Lute.

    Beautifully composed, and captured. It reminds me of such perfection as -- just stand back, and breathe it in. I think the rhythm and the middle towards the end, really captured those moments...

    Thanks for sharing, always a treat!

    Hello Raoul, To wallow in such music is to bath in your poetry. When the twain meet: bliss. Heavenly! Fond regards, Tony.
