    Foolish man

I missed your scent, the sound of your childish Laughter
Seeing the crinkles around your eyes when you smiled
The Love our hearts promised of ever after
Living the life that I believed was worthwhile

I can still hear your breath when we slept in our bed
your arms around me, sated lovers of the night
Sound asleep without feelings of dread
My comfort was in the days we didn’t fight

Foolish man you thought my heart was unbreakable and it would be your home forever

This is a sad one Alex. How many mistakes we make when we take each other for granted. You capture that well with this short piece.

Very sad and the last line nails it. When someone thinks your heart is just a room to rent they don't invest in it and treat it with respect as they would a home. If this was drawn from experience I hope he was evicted. Thanks for sharing
