    First Christmas in Heaven

    Choirs - beyond Hosannas sing;
    multitudes in joyous strains
    prolong eternal truths into
    noels of haloed night.

    Site in scenic manger pure,
    deliverance from danger, by
    our God-made-man; standing
    more than some would bear.

    But you, by grace, are there
    tonight, where wrong is rounded
    out by gift of Love. Beyond all
    telling. Truth indwelling. Tuned,

    to comprehended hope, perduring;
    in your battled endings, broken.
    Freed to soul; portending
    day when selves, free-humbled,

    join chorus ranks...
    in thanks...
    for all that is, and was,
    and ever more shall be.

      Consider it felt, dear friend! Miles are no obstacle in the zone!

    Heartfelt - we corresponded about this earlier as I lost my entire family many years ago, I keep the good memories to retrieve at will. Did not know your name was Paula? May I address you that way in the future?

      Thank you Bob - I remember. Originally I maintained the RLW moniker in open forum, but that horse left the stable long ago. Either Paula or RLW is fine these days! Merry Christmas!

    OK - thank you. I am still just Old Bob.

      Thank you for sharing, I know that it is not easy to deal with. It turned into beautiful poetry... "haloed night."

      Kudos, friend. <3

      The first stanza in particular and the entire poem stands with holy music.

        Thanks LG. Perhaps I did some hear some beloved Christmas hymns in the background as I wrote.

      Lovely poem for your mother, RLW, though I’m sure bittersweet for you.

      RLW, you brought me to tears.

      A first rate tribute.

      A first rare poem.

      Sometimes, words are powerless to fully express emotion.

      Not this time!

        Very kind of you to say so DWAYNE. When it falls out like this, I'm convinced a higher power is doing the writing.
    Working...
