    Tuesday Afternoon

    Under booted foot,
    Inclined toward nearest rise,
    I crunched the road away
    To sister's house.

    Fading warmth of winter
    Held contentment. On the
    Wing a hungry hawk drew
Circles in the sky. And I

    With coat on arm, went
    Thankfully - that someone
    Knew my name and cared
About my day - half a mile away.

Beautiful poem and title. The love between sisters is that bond that exists when all others break away. “I crunched the road away” is such awesome imagery. What a great choice of words. That step by step determination lets the reader know an intense journey is afoot. I love reading your work RLW.

Thank you Sister Greed. In this particular case not a metaphor either, as we're in the country on gravel roads! Thank you for the read and supportive comments!

Yes to know someone cares means more than words can say.

The sentiment is effectively conveyed by the diction and the vivid imagery.

    Well done, poet!

Thank you DWAYNE. It's all very real on this one. I'm glad the feeling came through.

I get it Paula. You’ve painted a vivid picture with your penbrush.
