first off, do they party in pity?
    wallow in brick
    colored water?
    swim defeated underwater,
    unveiled again
    shining bright
    deeper than the stars below
    trailing pines
    movement and wind
    netherworld--
    somehow, the God who lives
    in my blood,
    knew that doorway
    to appear before
    me; somehow the son
    was walked through,
    somehow, I
    watched these
    beginnings end in us.
    friction, and melting
    feelings stuck to
    the layers of cement-
    like shame, I wanted
    more than burial--

    you can't
    fast-track
    silence, though.

    you have to give in;
    flex, but allow
    the flexibility

    concrete is brittle
    bones are brittle

    the knowledge of
    everything
    what does that weigh
    next to your full
    head of hair?

    when the words
    fail, and aren't enough
    I hope you are
    still there ...

A very thoughtful piece, amenOra. A lot of wonderful lines, but I really liked these.

    'you can't
    fast-track
    silence, though.'

    'the knowledge of
    everything
    what does that weigh
    next to your full
    head of hair?'

    This is making me think.

This ticks all the boxes of my personal poetic taste, amenOra. It's chthonic, musical, has bones in it, weaves a spell. All the elements lurk in it, mysteriously, yet nakedly. Very beautiful work, amenOra. If I had written this, I would feel a sense of fulfilment.
