Leaf, that held Spring's promise true,

that cupped the love of Summer sun,

now Autumn's wind's have ragged and torn

thee, cast aside thy golden crown,

that he may stand in naked glory,

a David, wintered to ice-rimed view.

    Wow!

What a succinct articulation of the changing season!

    Excellent!

Thanks Dwayne, this came off the back
of someone else's 4 stanza poem
of the seasons but four pages
      reversed in search
      and now I find it's Mr Grannell's
      Four Sisters
      standing there ahead of me
but I find I can't edit the title
      to acknowledge that.
