  • The Third Silence (Reworked)

What we cannot speak about we must consign to silence.
    -
    Ludwig Wittgenstein, Tractates logiico-philosophicus

    Zen Master stopped the
    Pupil from speaking “Silence
    Has no need of clothes

    The Japanese call
    It Moku the Third Silence
    Infinite Stillness

    I thought Poetry
    Was the true astrolabe to
    Navigate that realm

    I watched as my words
    Only a spider’s web were
    Torn apart by wind

    In Poetry indeed
    The Silence can be palped
Yet not the words reify it.

    The lines of nebulous strokes
    Only serve as anchors for
    Our restless minds,

Helpless and feeble in the face
    Of the pure Silence, they
need something to hold on to.
