  • The Scattering

Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
    - Deuteronomy 10:19 NKJ Version

    We have been scattered
Like cats eye marbles fired off
    Friends and lovers
    Gone astray
Or rent asunder like the heavens by lightning

    What we hold dear
    And love
Is washed away before our eyes
    By flood waters
Or the wave crest of moments
That fray into the vast cauldron of nothingness

    We are strangers
Who are truly transfixed in mystery
In a strange landscape blanketed by silence
    Is there time
To teach us how to pray
For understanding of what is going on
    While the distant galaxies
    Scatter too into the void

''We are the scatterlings of Africa'' - Juluka. Is there time to teach us to pray? Good question and well asked, Tanner!
