  • Dream of Lost Eden

    If only I could touch
    You now
Retrieve you from the inaccessible past
    In spite of Dollo’s Law
Bring your beauty or your carcass
    Home to rest

    But loneliness
Is at me with its sharp beak
Like a bored and caged bird
    Feather-picking
    Its life away

    While I am lost
    And pick half-heartedly at words
    Without you

Poignantly beautiful verse with classically Tanner stylings. A plea to the heavens and who knows the answer you will receive?

"I find hope in the darkest of days, and focus in the brightest. I do not judge the universe." – Dalai Lama.

Loneliness is an evil bird that doesn't help you fly the distance required to be together again with those you miss. Very nice, Tanner!
