    How

How can I swim in your tears without drowning
There must be a way to kiss your fiery lips
    without getting burned-completely dissolving
my body by the brush of your fingertips

How can I breathe when I'm around you-the sight
Of you fills my chest and takes my breath away
A way without being consumed by the night
I dream that somehow I can see that day

AtL, I think Erich Fromm in The Art of Loving" talks about the fear of letting go and being consumed by the other person in a love relationship. People fear intimacy and risk-taking and don't want to "let go" - however, I think it is only in the intimacy of a true loving relationship that both persons are transformed and become new beings...I love the imagery in this poem. As always, Lexi, your sensual imagery rules the Heavens!

Evocative language AtL. Ripe with emotion and longing.

Clever carry over of these two lines Alexandra. You kept it nice and tight with the two verses.
            Enjoyable read my friend!
