    Glass Wall of Life

What vanity in search for such a love

    that overthrows life--What sumptuous riot

in a humble beggar's heart bereft of

Encamped by thoughts that are disquiet

A newborn babe expelled from mothers womb

From warmth into the harsh reality

Helplessly yearning but by fear entombed

    Grasping for this elusive fantasy

The death of dreams tear from extinguished eyes

Helpless peering through the glass wall of life

The heart pretends to breathe and be alive

Painfully pining for true love denied

This is a little different from your usual sonnet style Alex. It's got a very raw feel - like the emotion is right out in front with no attempt to finesse it - despite some of the intricate phrasing.

Your poetry of love denied, love lost, love undeserved is poingient and painful. I find it incredilby beautiful.
