    TAPESTRY OF TRUTH

    When truth
    has been trivialized,
    into pliability;
    and the facts become
    a casualty of motive,
    Virtue's decrescendo
    portends a nation's doom.

    For we are,
    at last,
    bound
    by a tapestry of truth,
    and if by
    disillusionment,
    denial,
    or mendacity
    these cords are frayed,
    it is not
    mere window-dressing,
    that hangs in disarray,
    but the whole edifice
    that stands in peril.

    For today's loose thread,
    is tomorrow's rent fabric.
    And, before you know it,
    the whole thing
    comes undone!

Your masterful touch has created a work of magic! "For today's loose thread is tomorrow's rent fabric..." So powerful and true!

      Glad you like it.

Your comments, regarding Come What Way, provided both the title, and the theme, of this poem.

To have been, in such a way, an inspiration for this masterpiece is an honour!

Truth is in dearth, and at a premium.

DWAYNE, Tanner especially loves the first stanza, especially "and the facts become / a casualty of motive". Masterfully done. Your eloquence and moral compass is a beacon to us all.
