    I need

    heard through
    misconstrued lenses
    worn as protection in
    layered self-doubt

    life sentence resounds
    a gavel pounds
    invitations to a jury
    never sent out

    conclusion false
    countenance up
    uneven field
    cavort in loss

Have been missing you and your beautifully turned verse. This one a searing and soulful plea - gone unheard?

About many folks I know.Judging without really listening or empathy and the one judged many times walks away only to 'cavort' or play along. A sad affair for many.

Very nice, Suz-zen! A lot of listening without hearing happening. A mentality of, as Supertramp put it in Soapbox Opera, ''I hear, only what I want to hear''. Well said!

I like the contrast of the dire judicial imagery with the final paradox of 'cavort in loss'. Simple and brief, yet full of meaning. Zesta!
