  • Virulent Wave

    When did reason men forsake?
Find minstrels mocked, for truths they spake?
    The brave, commence
    dissenting plea,
    and
    from the shadowed powers flee.
    Slip the harness, undeterred,
    to offer every scathing word.
    But will wisdom grace
    the drums of fools,
For shallow wit, a blunted tool?
    Are these
    just mortar-less bricks to splay?
To topple with a virulent wave?
When trussed, the naked corner sway?
    By chief, our spirit's core
    betray?

Hello Dwayne, The beauty of wisdom in beautiful poetry. Mortar-less bricks on a foundation shallow wit. Just excellent, truly. Regards, Tony.

Dwayne, your exquisite craftsmanship leaves me speechless. You have a lean precision and immense degree of articulateness that is well beyond most poetic endeavours. You are a Rock of Wisdom, neah - a life-sustaining fountain in which all of need to bathe frequently...

A marriage of august thought and diction, Dwayne, posing questions that have no good answer, now or ever, but must never cease to be asked.
