  • Chads of Men (Inspired by Already the dead, by Mr. Hayes)

    Make word to flesh
    by edicts rhetoric.
    Reflect old wounds
    made fresh,
    and scoundrels
    knighted to table's head,
    grasp
    the bigot's chalice
    from which
    no noble man would sip.
    This
    malevolent cup,
    its sloshing
    spills the founts of rage,
    the prodded angry chorus
    engage,
    rubbed to the chords raw,
    when first they heard
    and saw,
    mercy dwindled to the vanish.
    And finally,
he who courted shades of night
when the blemishes of day offended,
    and slept in apathetic crypts,
was now by the ruckus stirred,
    for fear
    their very beds
    lay in peril,
    by he who: long
    made naked his intent,
    then armed with quill,
    would not relent.
    Yet,was not
    by tyrannic coup foisted,
    but by chads of
    men hoisted.

A dramatic and acutely worded assessment, Dwayne, bristling brilliantly with poetic devices. Compelling and convicting.
