Looked to me a perfect pair

    Planning their escape

    Pretty those two buttons

    A stretch they couldn’t take

    Anticipation gathered round

    Feigning some pretense

Hanging by a thread were bound

One pop and off they went

    Quick to duck the jailer

    Periled pearls that fly

    Exposed and free at last

    When gravity’s applied

All knew the time would come

    Their expanded penalty

Deep breath was all it took

    Two buttons that broke free

Ha ha ha! Exposed and free at last when gravity's exposed. This line stuck like velcro!

Hello divot, ... and pearl buttons to boot, should have left them in the shell. Liberation in humour and excellent poetry. Well done indeed. Regards, Tony.
