  • Wasted Whispers (Inspired by Tony Grannell's, We Kept Our Mouths Shut)

    We kept silent,
that men would think us contented
    and, our in-articulation of misery,
    feigned the absence of it.
    When first we ought bellowed
    at our neighbour's accosting,
    did we
    huddle with our tribes
    relieved,
    until,
    my brethren's hovels hollowed,
    at once
they did set sights on me.
Then did my voice utter anguish.
    Then was my indignation bared.
But to the ether drifted whispers
when not a soul was left
    to care.

Hello Dwayne, Divine language, like reading the scriptures such is your sublime prose and this inspired by my blunt verse makes it even more remarkable. Excellent in all. Regards, Tony.

You wring my heart with these truths Dwayne. I sometimes want it to stop - but not really - because it is truth and needs be told...
