    DAYBREAK AND DEATH

    Daybreak came
    I was not with her
To a more vivid dream, I clung
    No more mornings, gray
    In between shadows
    Only the sun
    I prayed be this way
    Heart and breath sleeping
My dream had not been stung
    Endless fields
    Goldenrod the Mantis
    Milkweed the Monarch
    Forever
    A child will run
