fair to all would be no question.
Results count and when it’s done,
who’s left standing will have won.

No TV ads – no grandstand rally’s,
no billboards dotting hills and valleys.
Door to door would be the rules,
and selling skills the only tools.

Up at dawn and to late night,
candidates would have to write,
orders building towards an end,
a victory they can defend.

Tally true and in plain view,
the loser then bids fond adieu.
The winner picked – and not by bookies -
the one who sold more Girl Scout Cookies.
