  • full wolf moon

I wonder what the moon would do
    without the howling of wolves.
she must have a clear memory
of the first night that those voices
    did not come from dreams...
the night when she swallowed her house key
so that no one else might rob her of silence
    the night when things below
    no longer statues
began to fathom the distance between.

Beautifully haunting lungar glide. Having heard the howling when out in the country, even without a full moon, I can recall the feeling and it brings shivers.

thanks RLW. I think when words can transport you to such memories that is all a poet could want to hope for.

Wow! Heaven, earth and the zone are howling with applause. It touched me in a place that I know and feel but can't find the words right at this moment. The Moon Master has done it again. Shine on Lunar!

LG Again you have the pack feeding. Your lunaroligy is endless! Three howls out loud from this lone wolf.

I like poems that take what is typically regarded as an object and then get inside its point of view. Magic, lunar glide.

Hello Lunar Glide, None can rob her of her silence not even the howling wolves. There is a beautiful quirkiness about this poem that I love, to fathom the house key is to know the wisdom of silence. Lovely poetry indeed. Regards, Tony.

thank you for indulging the quirkiness Tony! and i agree regarding silence. something not easy to abide by, yet essential for poets.
