  • All my friends are turkeys--Fowl Pun intended

I've gotten close to a few turkeys in my time
especially after a few bottles of wine
Although our relationship is hard to define
the pleasure of our friendship's been all mine

When I call he's always there for me
even when the temperature is 350 degrees
Most times he's so polite, "will you pardon me please?"
you'd expect him to be more contrite, no begging on his knees

Caught up in the fever, spreads his feathers for all to see
little does my friend Tom know, he should be copping a plea
He's the topic of conversation, at our thanksgiving dinner table
too late for his probation, should have fled while he was able

Pass the gravy Bobby, maybe he can help you string the Xmas lights.

You should shed your guilt, Bobby, the President of the U.S. frees a symbolic turkey every Thanksgiving, so the rest of us can eat without remorse. This year, we are eating duck, so we have no excuse! Very clever, indeed!

Leaves me pondering When do you tell a friend to get stuffed?

Hello Bobby, I could see you sharpening the knife as you wrote this one, albeit with a hint of guilt, a guilt so easily usurped when one is slicing into a freshly roasted turkey. Should be recited as a grace before meals. A poem of fowl, feathers and the unfortunate - poor Tom. Very well 'executed', Bobby. Happy Thanksgiving, Tony.

I hope you enjoyed Tom in the end, with all the trimmings. Happy Thanksgiving, Bobby!
