    Dust to Dust

old hats held heads of yesterday
while some today shook free away
    from silly suppositions’ sway

young virile minds stood out the fray
    created by wrong-thinking bray
to ‘save the world’ another day

such pity wisdom felt the flay…
not all were dunced who touted gray
too late, to reconcile those played

bold on we marched while bugles jayed
    proclaiming ‘right from might-ed’ fey
    at end

    we all return to clay

love this from the first line "old hats held heads of yesterday" what an opening line. Love the end line as well and eleven lines in between.

Beautiful! You have inspired me, and words started coming out! And there is nothing better then being in-spir(it)-ed. Thank you!

Why thank you AnatoliyS! You'll find that happens a lot here in the zone - we somehow inspire each other - and it is a very neat feeling indeed. Thanks for the look, like, and gracious comment!
