  • I Can See the Sunrise

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I Can See the Sunrise
    over timeless, teary rivers
    sorrow’s weary boat set sail
    there were takers
    there were givers
    with a will to never fail
    fevered hearts beat out a rhythm
    there beneath a cloudy sky
    some were losers
    some were winners
    though they often wondered why
    in a life of battled journey
    down a path of constant woe
    you could love it
    you could hate it
    but you could not chose to go
    disengagement not an answer
    yet so often took the crown
    ever rising
    ever falling
    like a drunken circus clown
    when the dreaming of tomorrow
    meets the memory of today
    grab the nothing
    from the something
    we will find a better way
      Actually - I can. I really like this one - and I don't really get attached - not REALLY attached to poems, but it sings to me too. It makes me sigh in the best way - the most contented way. Thank you for reading, liking, and most of all commenting.
      Thanks MHenry. It just makes me want to do better, you know? Every darn day - to do better.
      Well LG, that particular image is not a pretty one (on the whole), but it rings true sometimes. Thanks for the read and taking time to comment.
    I think its an important idea : even when we don't know answers its a good awareness that knows non conduct or apathy is at least not an answer.
      Hmm for some reason this poem gave me a feeling of melancholy. Not in a bad way, but it definitely elicited a response. It's what I imagine never quite achieving your dreams feels like.
        Thanks CC, for checking it out. I guess I could see that, even though it wasn't intentional. I hoped to end with a bit of an encouragement. So that even if the path so far had been difficult, it was still worth the effort to keep trying. I guess it's appropriate too, since I'm still dreaming.
