Haiku in form and sensibility; plus, there is a understated musicality: melting/metal, the endings of metal and icicles, melting/echo/metal assonance, the endings of melting and waking.....a masterful gem and a really lovely observation. Hat's off to the Maestro!
Thank you for your careful evaluation, grant, Sensei. I felt certain you would notice the poetic devices at work here, and I am pleased you did. As you might recall, you previously educated me to the importance and usefulness of using such poetic devices whenever it might enhance the piece. As a result of your guidance, whenever I write I pay more attention to this.
