For all the wasteful things
That we always say or think or do,
Don’t you see it brings people like me or you
To never really care
About the things that really matter?
It makes life damp and bare,
It makes your bright world shatter.
The useless items never last.
Who cares if your car is shiny and waxed?
For when you’re dead and gone at last,
Don’t you want them to remember you
For what you have accomplished?
Or do you want to be equivalent to
One that didn’t keep their promise,
One who couldn’t cure cancer
Cause they had to clean their car first?
That we always say or think or do,
Don’t you see it brings people like me or you
To never really care
About the things that really matter?
It makes life damp and bare,
It makes your bright world shatter.
The useless items never last.
Who cares if your car is shiny and waxed?
For when you’re dead and gone at last,
Don’t you want them to remember you
For what you have accomplished?
Or do you want to be equivalent to
One that didn’t keep their promise,
One who couldn’t cure cancer
Cause they had to clean their car first?
