    Rationalizing

I could swear that this flair wasn't there
    yesterday.
And the crick in my neck? What the heck?
    Did I lay
on my bed, feeling dread for that red
    welted splay?
Or opine that some wine would be fine
    to delay
all the aches, or the shakes that awake
    with new day?
It's a rage when your age turns the page
    in a way
you might try to deny but then, why?
    Since display
has been set, don't forget, least not yet,

    it's OK.

Thanks Raoul! And now I shall research more on Mr. Wilde, for though I know the name, I'm not as familiar with his works. Thank you for the read, like, and comment!

Very nice, RLW! Even when you emphasize your rhymes in format, they do not seem forced!

Thank you yet again MHenry. The words do tumble that way and I'm so glad they don't sound forced. That would not be a good habit to be picking up.

Thanks AtL. Sometimes it flows more evenly than others!

What an utterly cartwheeling, pirouetting, high wire trapeze twirl of wry and telling verse, Rhymist. Hat's off!
