    Going Home

miles roll by – land parceled and packaged in
    ribbons of sun-baked asphalt
signs and seasons directing attention along the way
    radio spilling melodies long forgotten
    calling to mind yesterdays
    hope and hardship
    folly or fun
    journey within journey
spinning yarns of tapestry yet unwoven

Thank you Grant! It was the first poem to emerge on this most recent trip.

RLW, you are at the top of your game. Now all that's left is to create a new top. Lovely picture you've painted with your penbrush!

Aww..thanks Bobby! The summit is always shifting, isn't it? That's a good thing - it means always a new view.

Artfully told, the simultaneous experience of the eye and the ear merging in the mind to remember and to forge new memories. Your work grows ever more polished, RLW!

Thank you Bison! Road trips seem to be my forte the past couple of months and I'm not done for the summer yet. So thankful we are able to go about when needed.

Thanks LG. Long road trips can make for great reflection - and I like that you see wider applicability in it too!
