I haven't lost independence. No. I'm very Caucasian. I just wanted to share the darker nature of our country. History is far too often forgotten. We are not without our sins. We should not forget. But thank you for your kind words.

Sorry I confused you with someone else here who identified as Native. You did do what I read as a very good job with the message in your poem, though. There are parts of our American history that just get glossed over.

Bison, this is a very passionate piece and it is well-written. You have convincingly spoken from the point of view of someone you are not, you have raised some very important issues, and you have pointed out greed, hypocrisy, and indifference..

I read one of your comment in which your referred to your "youthful arrogance". Now I read this deeply insightful verse. This is not the work of an average youth. You are not arrogant you are confident and rightly so. Wise and insightful beyond your youth.
