    100 years since the Somme
    Remembrance no we weren't there
Do we even have the brain
    To contemplate death and pain
That took place in the cold mud
Shedding of so much young blood
On a scale that we revile
    We may not remember
    We must not forget

So much blood, loss and sadness. So much humanity destroyed for the greed and hate of others. You say we must not forget (I agree) but obviously we do. We keep fighting wars all based on the same greed, we keep losing young men for someone else's reasons. We remember and we forget.

    Lovely poem

Thank you I agree that we do forget but we need care as our destructive capacities increase. A war of that scale could now destroy the planet
