When I read this see a black and white photo, a wide front porch, a woman leaning against the railing catching raindrops in her hand. She is whimsical, I think.
Lovely haiku, RLW! The gentle rain, as opposed to the pelting rain, is a welcome relief!
I see thin, gentle sheets of slanted drizzle bouncing along the river, and a woman, bursting with inner beauty that radiates outward to a shimmering halo, head tilted back, holding out a grateful hand to the rain, the heavens that brought the rain, and the bountiful joy she has on Earth from the fulsome crops on the farm to the doting husband and loving children at home. Why, it's RLW!
Thank you MHenry. I'm not there yet, but I think definitely headed in that direction. We just spent the past couple of days in KS again, cleaning out the barn hayloft in preparation (hopefully) for our straw bales. We needed a place to store them (if the rain there lets up for awhile so things dry out enough to harvest/bale), but my Dad had some stuff up there that needed cleaning out. It was dirty, dusty work, but it looks great now (and I am pondering the purpose of dust)! Hopefully we'll be able to get the bales this year, but if not, at least we have room for them when we get them!
