  • Superior Yield ((Inspired by Muttado1sb)

    Treat infatuation,
like the fragrant hint of spring.
    Vaguely reminiscent,
in the meagre days of May,
    a mere,
    lady-in-waiting.
    For the seasons themselves
    are fickle,
    and, to find love
    between the weeds,
    requires both
    romantic aspirations,
    and undaunted pursuit.
    But you'll, no doubt,
    find the ripened fruit,
    sweeter substantially,
    while its pleasant features,
    linger longer on the soul,
    when, in retrospect,
    comparing
    lesser yields,
    partaken prematurely
    and in the tasting,
    revealed to be
    unripened.
    So,
    would you not
    do better, then,
    to find the superior yield,
    by keen selection,
    suited, particularly,
    to the subjective taste,
    and, upon savouring,
    become enraptured
    'til the end of days?

    NOTE:

This poem was inspired by Muttado 1sb's poem, Infatuation. I encourage all, to read this clever poem.

I love how you allow the fruit to ripen with this one. Excellent.
