Started with a nest of stings and ended with a puff of needles - in the EYE. I should have just posted a pic of St Sebastian, martyr of barbs, and left it at that.

Thank you, Dwayne. Yes, one can say 'I felt really down', and such concision is perfectly apt for quotidian contexts, but if one is ludicrous, one can also resort to preposterous dissections of the moment to no good purpose.
