  • Lost in Greed

A soul is lost in Greed
    Bidding on Satan's deed
    Singing it's only a need
    Lying to cover the bleed

    Again our trust is lost
Did you even weigh the cost
    Your Words are always glossed
    My Forgiveness is sourly tossed

Short, sweet, and to the point! Is this a response poem Rach79? It reads as if in answer to either an occurrence or prompt.

      I FREAKIN LOVED THAT!

It was like a justification, that threw caution to the wind.

It was a beautiful little piece.
That spoke HUGELY, of good Vs Bad.

And how we kind of allow ourselves to be tempted by?

      Your Words are always glossed

      Very nicely done.

      Hi, Rach79,

I enjoyed this short, but powerful piece. I also like the line Billie likes, but I like My Forgiveness is sourly tossed, too!

Terrific Rach, I watched the restored version of "Lost Horizon" 1939, last night -- all about the destructiveness of need, greed and shortsightedness which your poem speaks eloquently too.
