Well done, grant. Pithy and intriguing!

Humankind: Give us proof you exist!
God: Is not the Universe enough?
            Humankind: You did that?
God: No, but we are having a conversation...

Very thought provoking Grant. My grandmother used to say, 'see that house there and how many people would say it just appeared or built itself' of course as kids we'd laugh and say 'grandma someone had to have built it' and then grandma would say , 'exactly' and smile.

AG, you should have asked grandma how the creator got here! I am dying to know!

To me the answer was obvious since He is the Creator. I respect peoples views and their beliefs but I have my own beliefs also. :-)

I mean no disrespect, AG, but that is where I always end up when I ponder the question of Creation and the existence of God.

None taken and I do understand where you end up -- I've had my differences with the Almighty and definitely with a lot of religious dogma like hell fire, etc...but how I believe is that without him there is no hope for we are killing ourselves and this planet. I hope he steps in soon and remedies these problems. I respect you and your beliefs my friend MH. :-)

Thank you, AG. I was concerned I might have offended you!

If God is a proponent of tough love, He may just let us figure it out on our own. After all, He has an entire Universe to which He must tend.

Grant and Other Friends, Here's the Rub!
As you well know that we must consider
                  The Vexation

                  From nothingness
                  Came everything? Surely
                  You jest! From God’s
                  Black hat and magic wand
                  The majesty of creation
                  Must have fluttered out.

                  But the situation was
                  Much worse than that!
                  No audience in the theatre
                  That night. Some even
                  Dare exclaim, “No magician,
                  Black hat or wand”.

                    The Little Girls Listen

Man: Where did that penny come from?
Woman: I don't know. It was always there.
Man: But someone must have put it there, either intentionally or accidentally. It couldn't have got there by itself.
                    Woman: I suppose.
Little Girl: Who made the penny?
                    Woman: The U.S. Mint.
Little Girl: Who made the U.S. Mint?
                    Woman: People
                    Little Girl: Who made people?
                    Man: God made people.
                    Little Girl: Who made God?
Woman: I don't know. He was always there.
Little Girl: But someone must have put Him there, either intentionally or accidentally. He couldn't have got there by Himself. That's what the man said.
Man: Whose little girl are you, anyway? Isn't it time for you to go home?
Little Girl: Can I have the penny?
                    Man: It's just a penny.
Little Girl: No, sir. It's more than just a penny. It's a conundrum.

No audience indeed, though a trinity kind of deals with that lack. Hypostaseis can come in handy, though why they should all be boys is the great mystery to me.

At first I thought this was Thomas vs Pope, but then I realized I had Paine spelled incorrectly. It could work that way, though. Thanks for the write.

It could well be Thomas Paine and a pope, Muttado. I had that in mind ☺

Well then, it worked well for it to be clear in such a well constructed short point-counterpoint pair of verses. I admit your poems often go over my head (maybe wrong analogy for poems that have such depth :-) that I am pleased with myself when I do get them without having to do much research. Thank you.

Clever indeed, Tanner. Makes me wonder what is the sound of one hat clapping.

Now I am trying to match the magician's parts with hypostaseis. I cannot decide whether the Holy Spirit is the hat or the wand, nor whether the magician is the Father or the Son.

I am this sorceror's unapprentice. I reduced his horde of servant sticks to a single broom and snapped it in twain.

I am surprised this little scrap has begotten so much comment, Samuel. I did not strive in its making; it popped almost whole into my noggin. It was barely even tweaked. Who knows what forces wield us?
