  • Games For All Ages

    Hopscotch,
    bean bags,
    kick the can
    and Double-dutch

    Jack with stones
    and hula hoops
    Chinese ropes
    And piggybacks

    Marbles here,
    marbles there
    Traffic cop
    and Tether ball

    Parachuting
    with Wiffle balls
    jump the ropes
    while rollerskating

    Skipping ropes
    Hide and seek
    Water fights
    Sprinkler-dodging

    Cops and robbers
    kiss chasers
    Simon says:
    Go! and Stop!

Skateboard and Rollerblade and after we're done some lemonade. Joyful playful fun poem!

This one makes me smile imrogue! Playful fun and interesting - I sense a rhyme/slant rhyme scheme I've never seen before - first and last word of each stanza. Was that intentional?

RLW thanks for reading and for noticing rhymes first and last words of each stanza... I am not sure... i just noticed other poets doing it that way... and not sure whether i was doing it correctly... lol... Maybe we can ask Piperfancy or MHenry...

Lovely pace to this piece, playful sounds and use of line breaks add to the theme. Still—wistfully nostalgic in the sense that we so seldom see children engaging in the traditional joys of childhood these day...

I like to read some well turned joy, 'innocent as strawberries'.
