    Thank you, grant!

    Katray's introduction to the tanka has also aroused my interest in an ancient and revered poetic form of which I was previously unaware. I will have to try my hand at that, as well.

    Boomerangs - SOFT and HURT

    Here are two Boomerangs for your amusement.
    I learned of them here (with a few beautiful examples by the inventor and author).
    I think this form is suitable for many of the fine poets here in RZ.

    Basically, the first and last word must rhyme and there must be some coming back (I am not sure I did this, or even understand it).

    These are my first attempts, written the day I learned of this new poetic form.


    SOFT)

    Soft lips,
    will you still kiss me
    after I've defiled
    our loft?


    HURT)

    Hurt
    the day you left me
    alone with the scent
    of your shirt
