As Angels' Trumpets Blare
He burst the scene on angel's wings
With a piteous tale to tell
Of egregious acts, and the choir sings
Hymns for him and wishes the stranger well
There are those who cry false prophet
And there are those who idolize
Yet the wise discern loft from soffit
What escapes the child's eyes
But the wings then melt as paraffin
On a mountainous tower of lies
And all who chose to mourn for him
Bear witness his thin disguise
Though evil deftly masquerades
Clarity deflates the puffed charades
He burst the scene on angel's wings
With a piteous tale to tell
Of egregious acts, and the choir sings
Hymns for him and wishes the stranger well
There are those who cry false prophet
And there are those who idolize
Yet the wise discern loft from soffit
What escapes the child's eyes
But the wings then melt as paraffin
On a mountainous tower of lies
And all who chose to mourn for him
Bear witness his thin disguise
Though evil deftly masquerades
Clarity deflates the puffed charades
