  • Fallen Stars

    What are fallen stars?
    Are they, faded dreams,
Disappointments, streaking across the night sky?

Resoundingly repeating and reminding us of our failures. Or, are they, the gaiety of children,
Running amuck amongst the planets, causing mischief and mayhem.

Could it be that they are missives just for me, of a love Waiting, patiently?

A love I have yet to find, divine,
    Tangible, a love all mine.

Could fallen stars be; tears of a broken heart broken Once too many, or love sabotaged?

    For you see
I have yet to find my true love...
But in searching, I have drowned, in many a Mirage.

That last line says it all -- in searching I have drowned in many a mirage -- Your poems are beautiful Odonko-ba, all different -- your range is exquisite like an opera singer.

^ Yes, I agree, the last line is a powerful finale. Strong meditation on love, Odonko-ba. You have a way of thinking out loud the passions we have all felt.

Humans have been bedazzled and intrigued by the heavens since time began—assigning no end of meaning to the movement of the skies, dance of the stars. Very nice reflection you've penned—lovely!

Thanks, Piper. I sometimes surprise myself. There is a lot of poems that go right over my head.
I think I will just start posting. ''Fleetwood Mac'' the song that Christie sings. Over My Head

With subtle rhymes and vivid imaginings, you list many possibilities for the meaning of the cosmos and reduce it to the most profound. We all want love. To love and to be loved. Completely, eternally, unquestioningly. And the search goes on as we sift through the pretenders, looking for the true star in our own personal cosmos.

The picture shows where your inspiration comes from, but the poem stands alone.

Great work O-b! I am always impressed!
