I'll just shout YOU down! - I'll just shout YOU down!
our leaders aren't talking - just wearing a frown.
Logic and reason are thrown out the door,
while playing trite games and keeping a score.
Insults and threats are all that we see,
the harsher the words - the more seems the glee.
The way that they're acting is really quite dumb,
perhaps what they need is their Nap and their Thumb?

Sadly... our interest in such childish behaviour seems to encourage them to do more of it...

Oh you've said a mouthful here. I so often feel I am watching undisciplined, mean children in this process. It's not that I would know at every turn what to say better, but I do fancy that my ideas and convictions could stand on their own, without schoolyard antics to carry them.
