petulant promise
spew-soft venom couched in sighs
purest truth denied

tentative heart-meld
pummeled merciless and dies
dust to dust returns

ratified concord
bled-dry steady compromise
love’s libation trashed

Searingly good, Rhymist! I think the 'haiku rollout' form is being given a serious workout at the 'zone. This rings all the bells: a device-rich feast, suggestively but powerfully emotive. I salute, with a storm of huzzahs!

Thank you Grant. I couldn't manage more than four this time - but I'm working on another themed haiku package and hope to increase. I like the challenge of maintaining the structure, connecting all into a theme, and of course - a little bit of rhyme thrown in for good measure!
