  • Rhymezone's Kentucky Derby

All poets get ready at the top of the queue
the race is about to begin
Out with the old and in with the new
to miss this would be a sin

A poem about Community is at the quarter pole
and before you see it you don't
Unrecognizable was not the intended goal
at the back of the pack you won't

Unless we reverse the order that we view
your horse may never be seen
Give the reins to the jockey next to you
and you'll see where that poet has been

Tis better to give than it is to receive
    is what the pundits say
If do unto others is what we believe
then we need to show the way

I'll gladly give up my place in the queue
to give your horse first place
And when I give another his due
One day I'll be in that space

P.S. If you were to win however, it's because you deserve it

                    Very CLEVER play with words...

                    I LIKED IT!

I found myself starting-unable to stop.
                    And
Stop myself starting, I'm able to not.

( I enjoyed this piece & the interplay of words ).
WELL DONE & WELL THOUGHT OF!

This is a great poem Bobby! I'd fair say there are others that outpace me by a long mile - but I am enjoying time in the pack and learning every step of the way. I love the neighborly sentiment you espouse here! One other thing I find quite exciting it that the lead is ever-changing - as your poem encourages. Let us run the race together!
