so i wrote this as a gift to my mum for mothers day. I would really appreciate some feedback before i give it to her.
p.s Pankere and Koboko are cains.

    Maami

    Maami
We spoke in a different language
    Yet you understood us
Never complained that we were too much baggage
We cried and cried yet you never cursed

    Ummi
    You nurtured and groomed us
With your pankere and koboko you moulded our character
    Never afraid to use force
You changed our lives and made us better

    Ma
    Whenever we fall or stumble
You are always by the corner
To pick us up with no grumble and help in our struggle
You are the light that lights the way, brighter than any burner

    Mama
We know sometimes we think we are grown and need you not
Remind us that we are still kids in your eyes
Please forgive us for we are just children who are lost,
Never too old to be supervised.

    Okaasan
Sometimes we fall below your expectations
    Please know we feel sorry
To us what is most important are your emotions
We will succeed so please smile without worry

    Nne
We want you to know that we are grateful
And we know the debt we owe can never be fully paid
You the one who has been with us from the cradle
Your place in our hearts grows firmer decade after decade

    Maami we love you.

Fawaz - This is a beautiful, rich, heart-felt poem for your mom and I am sure that she will adore it.
I'm not familiar with some of the words that head each stanza, but they seem to signify maternal roles, which is a really neat approach!
