I'm sure there are a lot of great video editors out there. And you need to do your research and study the features and reviews of different video editors to choose the one that suits your needs the best. But if you're looking for something simple yet reliable, I'd strongly recommend Movavi. Movavi Video Editor is one of the best out there and works perfectly on any device. Plus, it's really user-friendly and easy to use. So even if you're new to video editing, you'll have no trouble getting to grips with it. I've had some great experiences with this video editing software, and I'm sure you will, too.

I had to be an editor and the best and the most convenient option for me was CapCut. It is free, but only works on phones I guess

According to tech numus, Filmora is full-featured editing tools and in-built effects and templates in Filmora are totally free to use, but there will be a watermark in the exported video. If you want to remove the watermark from the video, you need to subscribe.

I like Camtasia by Tecksmith https://www.techsmith.com/video-editor.html. It is not free ($299 -- as of Jan 2022) I have never had any problems (3 or 4 years). Screen Record, Power Point Record, Labels, Headers, Trailers, Fades, zooms, Movie and Sound Edit, Any number of tracks... I have not tried others. It has many publishing options. Accepts many formats.

I tried out Lightworks and I didn't like it much, but that's just me, the program is nice. I can recommend https://www.movavi.com/ It's free as well and very simple. I like the effects

So... Anyone? I can't say my laptop is new, so something simple but solid would be very much appreciated.
Working...
