Not too much going on here, except last week felt atrociously long. I had food poisoning on Monday, then my daughter came down with pink eye and a cold, and husband had a cold too. OOF. Thankfully we're all feeling better now.

I also found out I'm going to be an aunt over the weekend! My brother and his girlfriend are due toward the end of the year. I'm so excited for them but also it is SUPER weird that my little brother is going to be a dad.

Emmy Wonderful to see your name pop up again! We miss you when you're away. Hopefully Catz is having a good time off too.

Glad everyone in the family is doing better. It's nuts when you go one after the other with not feeling well.

Also, congrats on becoming an aunt...the only thing better is being a grandma...but you have LOTS of years until that path opens up!

We've had more consistent rain this spring than I can remember in awhile. As a result, the garden is growing nicely and I think we've only watered when we first added plants (to settle them in) and one other time. There are also a lot of bugs doing their best to get at the harvest too...so we're trying to keep an eye on that. I know dryer days are ahead, so I'm just going to enjoy this time as is.

On the other hand, dry, calm and not too hot weather will be good for painting the trim on the out-buildings. We have a lot of that to attempt this summer...it's been awhile.

OK. The lawn mower awaits. With all the rain our weeds have been growing apace also! Time to give them a "haircut"!

I love being an aunt. It'll be fun. Especially when the kids can get together and play.

I've got two nieces. When my sister and I watch them interact we just laugh. It's like watching us when we were little.

I have way more than two nieces, what I meant was I have two that are particularly funny to watch. So I am back from Mexico. Arrived on Saturday and have just been getting back to the regular routine. I started to feel relief about being away from Mexico and all the ridiculous bugs and animals out there, when I realized, home isn't California anymore LOL We've got gross bugs here too

My husband managed to keep all the plants alive. They are massive even. Time to get them out of the house, but our raised garden bed isn't ready yet. Here's hoping I can get them in today.

So I do have 3 nieces by marriage, but they're 15, 17, and 23, and due to some stuff going on with my MIL (in addition to the pandemic) I haven't really spent a lot of time with them. So it's nice that my daughter will have a cousin that's closer in age.

Oh bummer. It seems a lot of relationships became disconnected last year for many reasons.

Hopefully you get to hang out with them, but so fun to know your kid will have a little cousin friend.

moved the plants outdoors yesterday. Something moved the soil around since then, but it looks like my plants are all right.
