Since we've still such a long way to go on this battle, I'll try to add my five before heading back to work today.

I think I've addressed all of the Christmas cards and put them in the mail. All that are left are to be delivered by hand to local family members. That feels good.

Out of curiosity - do any of you still send cards via the postal system? A lot of folks I know send electronic greetings anymore.

For tomorrow there are actually wind warnings in the forecast. Sigh. I generally like the wind, but it's difficult to get anything constructive done outside when you're having to anchor down everything you're working with.

Umm here it snowed and rained a lot and we're in a drought like the lakes are half there size and the rivers are mostly gone so ummmm i have that to be greatful for the rain and snow I mean

And water prices are like a lot higher but at the same time bottled water's price hasn't changed much

I just gotta hope that we get more rain and stuff cuz its getting kinda stupid

Also to get my five in my dogs witch are pretty old I woke up to em tho usually they wake up to me... so that was a thing that happened that i could post about......

I love receiving and sending physical Christmas cards. This year I included a recipe and received one recipe back, an original piece of art from an artist I've supported in the past, and a large handmade, very festive card. It was just too fun this year and I, of course, always love any christmas card I receive regardless if there's some cute thing attached, but I loved the surprises.

Quite the day yesterday. Looked a bit like the 'dirty 30's'. Between the sustained winds and gust up to 100 mph in some places, plus reality of prairie fires (closest to within 2.5 miles of home), lots of people affected, some seriously so. God bless the fire fighters (many of them farmers and volunteers) and linemen working to restore electricity.

For us? Clean up commencing but home is safe, power restored, and calm breezes backed by sunshine again.
