We're still experiencing sunshine but I have a feeling that fall is in the air...I heard part of a high school football game being broadcast live this past Friday night while we sat visiting in my daughter and son-in-law's front yard. That's usually a sure sign that fall is starting soon.

Today's agenda includes taming (trimming) a monster tomato plant that got donated to us mid-summer and has exploded in growth. Small production (few tomatoes so far), so a good trim might improve that.

Very very rough morning with work. My daughter is getting her two top front teeth in, and they are just really messing with her. She woke up with a fever, meaning she can't go to daycare, so I called my work's supervisor on-call line to let them know I wouldn't be able to come in, since my husband had already left for work. The supervisor I talked to (not my direct supervisor) ripped me a new one and told me I HAD to come in, I was putting them in a pinch, and I HAD to find other childcare. But we don't have anyone in the area to watch her--one of us has to miss work, and my husband has already missed work several times to stay home with her because I couldn't get coverage. My husband ended up turning around and calling in to stay home with her. When I got in to work I sent a message to my direct supervisor and their supervisors about it. I understand we're short-staffed and it was early (about 5:30am) but I didn't deserve to be spoken to that way. So far I've heard back from two of the three recipients and they've been very apologetic about the situation.

Also planting some hostas (which needed to be separated) "liberated" from the flower bed at our old house. Prior transplants did well here, so I'm hopeful.

And since when it rains it pours, on top of everything else this last week, I fell walking out to my car after work yesterday and rolled my ankle pretty badly. Also scraped and bruised my knee and elbow.
