It's nice to spend time with your grown children.

Our oldest daughter is here now, and although it's getting pretty warm is learning how to operate the skid steer and moving rock we recently had hauled in for our driveway.

Finally some rain to cool things down. Got soaked going from my house to my car, but at the group home I work in, it was only sprinkling. The rain has quit for now, but it's very hazy outside because of wildfire smoke.

My daughter figured out how to pull herself up to standing over the weekend! She'll be 9 months old tomorrow, she's gonna be walking and running before I know it.

She'll be running amok in no time. I think that's the best stage, but only as an aunt. I know they can be exhausting for momma lol

We had a few days of cooler (80's & low 90's) weather and are getting ready to ratchet things up again.

Summer is a great time...if you have enough water and don't mind the heat.

I think a looong time ago we used to have super long battles because we could reach the end so quickly.

I'm doing well. Business is busy.

We added two ducks(neighbor gave us two). We are thinking one is male and one is female. They are about 3 weeks old. I also added 10 bebe chicks. They are ridiculously adorable.

My husband and I have built a large coop for them and will be repurposing a large dog kennel for the run.

Although I don't actually want 10 hens... That was just the only way I could get Australorp chickens. No one local had any and all the ones online had large minimum requirements. I'm hoping to keep them all alive and healthy to 4 weeks, then I'll see if anyone in the family wants one, otherwise I'm selling 5. lol

My sister, who has raised chickens from peeps before, bought 6 full-grown layers a few months ago. Now I buy my farm-fresh eggs from her and they are great! They cost more, but in the end she said you spend about as much and this way she had eggs right away.
